About the hotel
SETTING & STYLE
The thermal waters of San Giuliano Terme have been highly prized since Etruscan and Roman times for their beneficial and health giving properties. In the mid 18th century the area became fashionable amongst the nobility of Europe, when the Grand Duke of Tuscany, made the Villa Bagni di Pisa his summer spa residence. Today this beautiful Tuscan villa has become a luxurious spa hotel. The 61 guestrooms are all elegantly decorated, some with 18th century frescos and vaulted ceilings.
The beneficial waters, which emerge at the foot of Mount San Giuliano, are from various springs and are gathered in two groups at different temperatures at the ‘East’ & ‘West’ baths.
RESTAURANTS & BARS
Fine dining is offered in the Dei Lorena Restaurant, where guests enjoy delicious Tuscan dishes, whilst enjoying the lovely view over the Piazza del Miracoli (Square of Miracles). The restaurant also offers low-calorie and vegetarian cuisine. Guests can relax after dinner with a drink in the 18th century bar, or in the Byron sitting room with its panoramic terrace.
The Spa offers a wide range of therapeutic treatments including ‘Granducas Hamman’; a steam bath in a small thermal grotto, reached via a tunnel built in the 18th century and only recently discovered.
This is an elegant and historic hotel, offering exceptional spa and wellness facilities.
