As more travellers discovered Sardinia through Sardatur, many returned wanting to explore more of Italy. The company gradually expanded its expertise beyond the island, building relationships with exceptional hotels and resorts across the country, many of which remain part of Sardatur’s carefully selected portfolio of Italy hotels.
As the company evolved, Sardatur continued to offer carefully designed holiday packages while increasingly creating fully tailor-made journeys, allowing each trip to be shaped around the traveller rather than the itinerary.
A New Chapter in Luxury Travel
A major turning point came when Gianni Bonuglia joined the company in 2008 with a vision for its future. Over time, he played an increasingly important role in shaping the business and eventually became Managing Director.
Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in the luxury travel sector, Gianni helped guide Sardatur through a transformation. The company gradually moved away from product offerings aimed at the traditional mass market and repositioned itself within the luxury 5-star travel space.
During this period Sardatur also operated private British Airways flights for more than a decade, offering clients a seamless travel experience from the moment they departed the UK.
