highest quality car hire with best rates and services.

One of the great pleasures of hiring a car in Italy is that it offers you the freedom and independence to explore the country at your own pace. Remote towns and villages suddenly become accessible, as do those delightful, isolated beaches. Even hiring a car for a few days, will greatly enhance your holiday enjoyment. Holidays which include transfers, can easily be substituted for car hire. We can arrange for you to collect the car at your arrival airport, and to return it at the end of your holiday. Full driving instructions to your accommodation are provided. For those who prefer to take things easy on arrival, we can book your transfers and arrange for the car to be delivered to your accommodation once you have settled in.

CDW rate includes unlimited mileage, CDW, TP, APT/CITY tax and VAT charges. Excess apply for damages according to group: Groups - A-B-C-D-E-I-J-N € 850. - All other groups € 1,300; and vehicle being stolen: Groups - A-B-C-D-E-I-J-N - € 1,700 - All other groups € 2,100.

SCDW rate includes unlimited mileage, SCDW, STP. APT/CITY tax, VAT charges. Total elimination of any excess for damages and theft of the vehicle. 

If a car is included in your holiday and is to be collected from the airport, please go to the AVIS rent a Car desk. You will need: car hire voucher, driving licence and passport or photo-card licence and credit card for the deposit.

NOT INCLUDED:
• Additional driver.
• Personal Accident Insurance (PAI). This insurance will cover the cost of any personal medical cost incurred in the event of an accident. This Insurance usually is included on your travel insurance, please check with your insurance company to see that you are covered.
• Global Vehicle Cover. This insurance will cover any charges payable in the event that the roof, chassis, tyres or windscreen are damaged or stolen.
• Domestic One-Way Fee between different cities.
• Punctures, Garaging, Petrol, Parking and traffic fines, Baby & Child seats, Delivery and Collection at accommodation. Re-fuelling charges, additional driver charges.
• Administration fee payable locally in case of loss or theft of car keys, dealing with and accident file or violation of the Italian highway code.

We strongly recommend that you purchase, for your peace of mind, additional insurance available.

You will be required to sign the relevant documentation and agreement, which is a direct contract between you and the car hire company. Please see AVIS rent a Car website for “Terms and conditions” and contractual agreement at www.avis.co.uk

Note:

If travelling with infants, and/or for more comfort, it may be advisable to upgrade to a larger model.

Luggage racks are no longer available. If, therefore, you anticipate taking more luggage than is likely to fit in the boot of your chosen vehicle, please ensure you upgrade to a car with a suitably larger boot.

Vehicles are delivered with a full tank of petrol and should be returned that way. Prior to taking possession of the car, clients will be asked for a credit card imprint. Failure to return the car with a full tank will result in the cost of the petrol, plus a refill charge, being charged to the credit card or deducted from the deposit.

All vehicles are fitted with seat belts, as it is now compulsory for the driver and front-seat passenger to wear them. In addition, children aged 4 to 12 years must be seated in the back and wear seat belts. By law, infants up to 7 months require a baby seat, secured in the front passenger seat.

Children aged 7 months to 4 years must be seated in a child seat, secured in the rear of the car. Booster seats for older children are not available in Italy. Supplements for baby or child seat are payable locally. Drivers must be at least 25* years old and have held a full licence for at least 1 year. A full British licence is acceptable and there is no upper age limit provided you have a full UK licence. Please note that it is a legal requirement whilst driving in Italy to carry your driving licence and passport, or a new photo-card driving licence.

* Young Driver Surcharges - Minimum age required is 21 years old to hire the vehicle, if you are under 25 years old a Young Driver Surcharge will apply.

All vehicles have radio and air-conditioning. Models and makes are examples only and cannot be guaranteed. Cars are to be returned no later than 30 minutes from collected time; failure to do so will incur an extra day's rental charge at local rates. The car rental company reserves the right to supply a higher group vehicle at no extra charge, if a car in the group you require is not available.
