Oliena lies on the slopes of Monte Corrasi, overlooking the Cedrino valley. Monte Corrasi is a rugged limestone mountain and forms part of the Sopramonte massif. Nestling amongst vineyards, almond trees and olive groves, it has a picturesque old town and market square; the traditional houses typically built in unfired brick and straw. The surrounding area produce olives, excellent wine and exquisite cheeses. Oliena is also known for handicrafts, including embroidery and Sardinia jewellery.
Ideal base for excursion into the mountains including to the Nuragic village of Tiscali and Valle Lanaittu.
