Santa Teresa Di Gallura

Luxury Holidays for Families & Couples to Sardinia

The small town of Santa Teresa di Gallura, was named after the queen Maria Teresa wife of Vittorio Emanuele I, king of Savoy and then Italy.  Santa Teresa lies on the north tip of Sardinia facing the sea-port town of Bonifacio on the island of Corsica. The present-day town was built from scratch during the Savoy reign. On the rocky headland stands the Torre Longosardo, a 16th century watchtower, from where one can admire views over the bay and in a distance the white cliffs of Bonifacio. From its natural deep inlet harbour ferries ply to Bonifacio and La Maddalena.
