The official ratings are based on certain facilities or services being available and they do not take into account the size of the bedrooms or public rooms, nor the preferred décor pf the owner, which may be at odds with your taste. Hotels in the same category, even in the same resort, can vary considerably in character, ambience, service and facilities and may not offer the same staffing levels and facilities, or be as well maintained. it must be bourne in mind that cost is a good indication of standards, particulary when comparing hotels in the same star rating.
As well as the hotel's official star rating, we have also given our own special rating, based on our personal opinion. - SETTING & STYLE
Ideal for a relaxing holiday, the Baia di Nora is built and furnished throughout with superior decor, in an elegant, sophisticated style.
This superior 4-star hotel is set in charming landscaped gardens, extending down to its own private beach. The hotel is only a short distance from the archaeological site of the same name and 3km from the small town of Pula. It consists of a main reception area, with the rooms located in terraced, two-storey buildings, which form an oval around the pretty, central garden, complete with a tiny pond.
RESTAURANTS & BARS
A stroll through the grounds takes you to the hotel's airy restaurant, specialising in Sardinian and international cuisine. Breakfast is taken at the ample, self-service buffet, with table service being available for lunch and dinner. Here you may dine both indoors or "al fresco" under the large, shaded verandah. There is also a pleasant barbecue area.
Between the restaurant and the beach of fine, white sand, is a play area and a large freshwater swimming pool, complete with whirlpool, diving section and bar, conveniently positioned in the centre for that well-deserved drink! The hotel also has a lounge, bar and small gymnasium. The use of all these facilities, plus beach/pool towels, Italian bowls court, and ping-pong tables, is complimentary. Also available at local charge, are a tennis court, sun-beds by the beach and mountain bikes. Horse riding is also available in the vicinity (shuttle bus provided).

'Stayed here again after a lapse of five years and it hasn't changed a bit - in the good sense. Friendly bilingual staff and a professional attitude to everything. Most bedrooms overlook the wonderful gardens full of birdsong in the early morning. We stayed HB and it is very pleasant to sit in the outside veranda full of geraniums in the evening and have surprisingly good Italian food from a limited but very well-thought out menu. 'The hotel had only just opened for the season and there were few guests. The staff could not have been more attentive. The reception staff dealt with all our requests promptly and efficiently. The restaurant staff were friendly and attentive and did everything possible to assist with dietary requirements. The food was varied and tasty. The cleaning staff left our rooms as we would like them. The hotel grounds were immaculate and we had no complaints about the beach. It's worth making use of the hotel bikes to explore Pula and the surrounding area. All in all a relaxing holiday and we would have no hesitation in returning to Baia Di Nora.' D. - May 2015
