Set on the iconic piazzetta in the heart of Portofino, Splendido Mare began life as a charming guesthouse for fishermen and weary travellers. Today, it has evolved to become a gathering place for stylish Italians and international jet-setters. Rich in personality, with winding Corridors, multi-level spaces and hidden terraces, our intimate retreat captures the spirit of the Harbour and reflects Portofino’s kaleidoscopic views.

Guests are welcome to use the complimentary shuttle to our sister property, Splendido, to make use of all the facilities. 

RESTAURANT & BARS

DAV MARE Mare draws upon the Cerea family's more than fifty years of experience, as well as Executive Chef Davide Galbiati's, trained under the guidance of chefs Chicco and Bobo Cerea, modern culinary flair. DaV Mare combines the authentic recipes and flavours that can be enjoyed on the table of an Italian family, with the mastery expressed by the chefs of one of the most important gastronomic dynasties in Italy and owner of the three Michelin star restaurant Da Vittorio. Breakfast 07:30-11:00. Lunch 12:30-14:30. Dinner 19:30-22:30.

DAV MARE BAR Relax in the intimate bar adjacent to the restaurant and sip a chilled aperitif as you observe the lively Piazzetta. Open 11:00-24:00. 

GELATERIA SAN GIORGIO Indulge in a mouthwatering ice cream right in the heart of the Piazzetta, enjoying a charming view over the harbour. Open 11:00-23:00 during summer months

RELAX

The heated, saltwater pool at Splendido is surrounded by lush gardens. A backdrop of palm trees and sea views complete the scene. Unwind on a sun-bed in one of the terraced gardens and soak up the scenery.

At the Splendido a synthetic grass tennis court is available to perfect your technique. Challenge your partner to a friendly game, or opt for a private lesson with a coach.  The Fitness Centre at Splendido has the latest exercise equipment, with a personal trainer available on request.

Play 18 scenic holes at Golf Club Rapallo, just 25 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

Take our courtesy shuttle to the secluded Bay of Paraggi, a few minutes from the hotel, where a comfortable private lounger waits for you on the warm sands.

  VILLAGE VIEW ROOM The room has a king-size or twin beds and enjoys a village view from its windows. The bathroom features a separate shower. Maximum occupancy: 2 people (no extra beds).

  SUPERIOR VILLAGE VIEW ROOM Views over the colourful houses of Portofino can be enjoyed from the windows or balcony of these rooms, which feature either a king-size or twin beds. Bathrooms feature a walk-in shower. One room can be connected with a Junior Suite. Maximum occupancy: 2 people (no extra beds).

  VILLAGE VIEW JUNIOR SUITE These junior suites boast a view over the village and feature a beautiful terrace. A king-size bed or twin beds are available. The bathrooms have bathtubs or showers, and one Junior Suite can be connected to a Double Room. Maximum occupancy: 3 people (1 extra bed).

  SEA VIEW AND BALCONY JUNIOR SUITE The terrace or balcony brings you closer to the vistas over Portofino’s bustling Piazzetta and harbour. The fresh, airy spaces feature either a king or twin beds. Bathrooms have a bathtub and separate shower. Maximum occupancy: 3 people (1 extra bed).

  SEA VIEW AND BALCONY SUITE With wonderful views overlooking the magnificent harbour and towards Castello Brown, these delightful suites feature a balcony or terrace. King or twin beds available. The stylish bathroom offers a shower and in two suites a bathtub. No connecting rooms. Maximum occupancy: 3 people (1 extra bed).

  AVA GARDNER SUITE Stretching the length of the entire top floor, this magnificent suite has the largest terrace in the hotel – its 35 sq m expanse is adorned with a huge potted lemon tree and Mediterranean plants. An incomparable view of the harbour, promontory and Castello Brown is visible from the bedroom and sitting room. The bedroom enjoys natural light from two windows and can be configured with either a king-size or twin beds. The sitting room features an almost wall-to-wall glass window that, when open, joins with the terrace to create an expansive, half-indoor, half-outdoor space. The main bathroom offers a bathtub and separate shower and there is a second, smaller bathroom. Maximum occupancy: 3 people (1 extra bed). On request, it connects to a Junior Suite with terrace and becomes a two-bedroom suite.
