About the hotel

SETTING & STYLE
Accessible via a 30-minute flight from the main island of Mahe, Denis Private Island offers a stunningly beautiful secluded location and an idyllic escape, away from the bustle of everyday life.
The feel here is barefoot luxury and island chic with a laid-back atmosphere. Sandy paths link the different areas of the resort and with just 25 spacious cottages nestled in the lush vegetation, this is an exclusive hideaway ideal for couples and families.
The service is relaxed and friendly and tailored to the individual. The buildings are designed to blend into the lovely, natural setting and as there is no mobile signal (Wi-Fi only available at reception) and no televisions in the rooms, guests can truly unwind and immerse themselves in this beautiful paradise.

RESTAURANTS & BARS
The resort features 1 restaurant and 1 bar.

RESTAURANTS
Denis Private Island is renowned for its gourmet cuisine. A fabulous array of freshly caught seafood, marinated meats, exotic salads and fresh vegetables are to be found on the menu, enhanced by local herbs and spices from the island's gardens.
The island has its own farm and rears poultry for eggs and meat and cows for milk. There are also fruit, vegetable and herb gardens to provide fresh ingredients for the chefs. Everything grown is organic and seagrass is used as compost for the plants.
There is one dining room, situated just back from the beach with open sides to allow a breeze to circulate. Breakfast and lunch are buffets while the five course dinners are table d'hote. Twice a week there are special evenings with either sushi or a Creole spread.

BARS
The bar is the spot for a refreshing sundowner drink and private candle-lit dinners on the beach, in the wine cellar or on your private veranda can be arranged on request for a charge.

RELAX
Swimming pools
The resort has one swimming pool.

Health & Spa
Guests have the option of enjoying a variety of spa treatments in the comfort of their cottage or around the casuarina trees surrounded by nature. Most of the spa products are crafted in the Seychelles from local ingredients.

Beach
A glorious white sand beach fringes most of the island and it's easy to find a spot to yourself where you can be completely undisturbed. The island is also surrounded by tropical reef which can be explored directly from the beach.

Children’s activities
There is no Kids Club – however Denis Island is a natural playground for the young. The hotel has developed a range of nature and other activities for children to discover the island and its attractions, and the Chef is especially attentive to the culinary tastes of younger guests. Babysitting is available; early meal times or in-cottage dining may be organised for younger children.

Fitness
Whilst there is no gym at the resort, there are an array of activities available to the guests.

Water sports
Non-motorised water sports and ocean-based activities ensure that guests can explore the wonders of the rich marine life around Denis. Through the PADI affiliated dive centre, you can participate in dive courses and excursions available for beginners and advanced divers alike. The lagoon is a tropical fish haven, with triggerfish, clownfish, parrotfish, rays and turtles often seen around the coral reef. Further off the reef, sightings of turtles, white tip and reef sharks, rays, sailfish, and tuna are common, whilst dolphins and whales are also frequent. Whale sharks and manta rays are often sighted from September to November. Snorkelling and scuba-diving equipment are available.
Other available water sports include canoeing, swimming and fishing.

Activities
There are numerous activities available to guests staying at Denis Island including nature walks, tennis, billiards and a jogging trail. Tours of the island around the farm and estate are organised regularly - guests can visit the old village craft workshops and the giant tortoise colony. Excursions to other islands can also be organised.
