SETTING & STYLE 

The Cliff Bay is located on Estrada Monumental, high on a natural promontory providing direct access to the sea. Within stunning gardens and it's numerous hidden corners and ancient palm trees along with a magnificent view over the bay of Funchal, it provides a genuine setting of tranquility and well-being.  In 2021 the hotel was refurbished, in an extensive renovation that included the rooms, reception, lobby and the the 2 Michelin starred Il Gallo d'Oro restaurant.

RESTAURANTS & BARS

The hotel has 3 restuarants offering guests local and international cuisine. 

Il Gallo d’Oro - The two Michelin-starred restaurant offers exquisite Mediterranean and Iberian-inspired aromatic cuisine. For Chef Benoît Sinthon, local produce is a key ingredient, combined with international high quality fare. The dishes delight with their careful presentation and colours, the freshness of their ingredients and their delicate flavours. (Dinnner Tuesday to Saturday only - reservation is required)

Rose Garden - Breakfast and dinner. Various international cuisine offered à la carte menu and a kids menu. Every day a different suggestion 7am - 10.30am dinner 6.30pm - 10pm (reservation is required)

Blue Lagoon - Located next to the outdoor saltwater pool and right next to the sea, take a break with a relaxing dip and challenge your senses with the barbecue, salad buffet and à la carte menu. Fresh, light and refreshing flavours.

Cliff bar  - Enjoy the best of evenings here, where you can dance to the sound of live music and enjoys your favorite cocktail .Open every day: 1.00pm - 11.00pm snacks served from 1.00pm - 9.00pm

Cactus bar - Between dips or after a SPA treatment, recharge your batteries with a fruit juice, salads, snacks or light meals by the indoor pool 10.30am - 6.00pm

RELAX 

The Cliff Bay offers 3 swimming pools. At sea level, you will find an outdoor swimming pool with salt water and a children's pool in the play area. A further indoor/out pool is available next to the spa area. Pool towels are included.

Guests can avail themselves of the solarium area and have sea access direct from the hotel's pontoon . Snorkelling classes can be arranged via the reception (with charge). 

The Cliff Bay Spa offers a full range of treatments (with charge). The Spa Suite offers a luxurious spa experience with massage, jacuzzi and chill-out area, with views over Funchal bay and the sea. During the summer months an outdoor spa can also be arranged. Fitness enthusiasts have access to a fully equipped gymnasium.
