The Saccharum  is located in Calheta on the west coast of Madeira, next to the marina and sandy beach, sitting proudly between the impressive mountains and the dazzling ocean. The contemporary decoration was idealized by the renowned interior designer Nini AndradeSilva, together with RH+ Arquitects, who found inspiration in the localprocess of making sugar with the saccharine cane.The atmosphere deepens the communion with the surrounding nature and Madeira’s ancient traditions.

Engenho - Every morning when you turn around you will find the most vibrant selection on a freshly prepared breakfast buffet. In the evening, the buffet offers a great diversity of flavours ranging from the Mediterranean to the Island’s traditions.
Alambique - Offering a truly unique and diverse à la carte menu including Vegan & Ayurvedic plant based dishes
Trapiche - Delicious varied menu for the entire family - Open for lunch and dinner 
Rhum Bar - Relax and enjoy nights of live music along with signature cocktails or even some of Madeira's finest Rums. 
Garapa Bar - Situated poolside, serves fresh food and snacks, fresh juices and  cocktails.
Fly Lounge Bar - Dance to the island's best live bands and artists as you enjoy the Cocktail of the day
Calhau Beach Club - Located by the sea, in one of the most charming areas on the edge of Calheta and whereto view the best sunsets on the island. This is a spot guaranteed for fun, set in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere 

RELAX

The resort offers 3 outdoor fresh water swimming pools (including a splash pool for children) and 1 indoor fresh water heated pool. The Calhau Beach Club is perfect for those wishing to spend a relaxing day by the sea (sun loungers and umbrellas payable locally). The spa offers a widerange of treatments, that will fully reinvigorate and revitalize your body and mind.The relaxing atmosphere is created bythe light, the materials and the colour scheme. A fully equipped Gym is also available for guests.

CHILDREN

For the younger guests, the children's playroom allows their imagination to run free! This area is packed with fun, games, books, activities and mysteries for little brains only. Baby sitting services also available (with supplement).
