Itinerary:

 

Day 1-3:

  • 3 nights stay in Lecce
  • Private tour: Explore the Baroque architecture of Lecce, known as the “Florence of the South.”
  • Stroll through the charming streets of the historic centre, where you can admire beautiful churches, palaces, and the Roman amphitheatre.
  • Take a day trip to the nearby seaside town of Otranto, exploring its medieval castle and its UNESCO-listed cathedral with its stunning mosaic floor.

 

Day 4-9:

  • 2 nights stay in Martina Franca
  • Immerse yourself in Martina Franca’s local market or artisan workshop, where you can pick up handmade products like ceramics or leather goods.
  • Explore the 17th-century Palazzo Ducale, home to the town’s museum, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the town’s highest point.
  • Visit a local winery in the Itria Valley, where you can tour the vineyards and cellars, and taste wines made from native grape varieties like Primitivo and Negroamaro.

 

Day 10-12:

  • 2 nights stay in Gallipoli
  • Explore the historic centre of Gallipoli, which is located on an island connected to the mainland by a bridge. Wander through narrow streets, visit the Gallipoli Castle, and enjoy views over the Ionian Sea.
  • Relax at one of the beautiful beaches near Gallipoli, such as Baia Verde or Punta Pizzo, and enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear waters before ending your trip.
