About the hotel
SETTING & STYLE
Santa Teresa di Gallura is Sardinia’s northernmost town and overlooks the Straits of Bonifacio to Corsica, just 11km away. This traditional seaside town and port has good-value restaurants, cafes, street markets and speciality delicatessens.
The town was founded in 1808 and is now an important embarkation point for ferries en-route to the Maddalena Islands and Corsica. The town becomes very lively with visitors in the summer, who congregate in its main piazza with the Church of San Vittorio at its centre.
The coastline is characterised by granite outcrops and a wild and jagged coastline. There is a town beach, Rena Bianca, but the area offers many other lovely beaches worthy of exploration; several just a short drive away.
Conveniently located at the entrance to Santa Teresa, Hotel La Funtana is a simple hotel with a reputation for friendly service, and is approximately 650 metres from Santa Teresa’s town centre and only 400 metres from the fjord-shaped port.
RESTAURANTS & BARS
The Restaurant, located in the main building, consists of a large and fully air-conditioned seating area. Here is where breakfast and dinner are served every day. In summer, a small outdoor area is available for guests who want to dine in a pleasant and refreshing environment.
Hotel La Funtana offers its guests a simple and genuine cuisine, carefully prepared with local products of the traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
Decorated using located handicrafts and textiles, it offers an unpretentious and welcoming stay, with a comfortable lounge & bar and a play area for children in the garden. The building forms a semi-circle around the pool area, with some of the rooms offering pool views. Breakfast is a continental buffet with dinner being table service.
The equipped public beach is approximately 20mins walk away, where sun-beds and parasols are available from the local beach organisers (at local cost & subject to availability). Alternatively, sun-beds and parasols are available on the terraces by the swimming pool.

'The flight from Heathrow to Sardinia is very convenient and worked well The holiday itself was excellent. The hotel selected was exactly as described. The people there could not have been more helpful. The restaurant had excellent menu and the kitchen produced delicious food'. T. - November 2017
'Good hotel with a lovely pool area that's not too busy. It's about 15 minutes on foot from the centre of Santa Teresa and has a decent sized car park. Definitely worth the extra distance to have the pool and the space round the hotel. Wi-Fi was fast and available everywhere in the hotel. Rooms are clean and have cable TV with a few English new channels (Sky news, BBC World). Would recommend it.' L. - August 2015
'An extremely comfortable hotel; large ground-floor leisure space for reading and relaxing, large and very pretty swimming pool, spacious rooms with fridge and TV, large bathrooms with hairdryer. A/C and WIFI throughout. Reasonable restaurant with spacious toilet facilities. Situated quite close to the road but no road-noise although our room was on the road-side; within easy reach of all the lovely beaches in Sta.Teresa di Galura. Excellent breakfast with home-made jam tarts, good jam, yogurt, ricotta and honey, cakes, etc. Impeccable staff. Altogether, a very pleasant stay.' P. - July 2015
'This hotel is a smaller family run hotel, it has a fantastic pool and the grounds are beautifully kept by the gardener. The hotel is around a 10- 15 minute walk from the centre and the beach. Another added bonus is there is free parking onsite and breakfast was also included in the room rate. We upgraded to have a balcony which was a good decision as we then had the sun all afternoon and the balcony was very private as we had one situtaed right at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was continental style with more than enough to choose from where the wait staff were friendly and extremely efficient.' Teresa - June 2015
